ABOUT M.E.
Hello, my name is Mary E. Beil. I am originally from New Jersey, moved to Montana in 1997 after completeling one year at a community college. My family decided to GO WEST , I joined them and we never looked back. Montana is a beautiful place to live. (we had never been to Montana before, so it was quite the experience).
After moving here -to Montana, I went to MSU - College of Technology in Great Falls, MT to study Interior Design (which I had thought about doing before the move), there was a major mix up with classes, since the Interior Design Professor was leaving and I was not ready to spend extra years for a two year course, so I joined my sister (who just graduated high school) in a field I had never really thought of or knew alot about, Graphic Design. I had always been a creative person, enjoyed and excelled in art growing up, so it sounded very interesting to me. I enjoyed the design classes that involved the old design techniques, using paper, type font, drawing, etc, and came to enjoy the new way, using the computer. I also enjoyed several photography classes.
I have a BA in Graphic Design and have worked for Winston Publishing for the past 2+ years. While employed as their sole graphic designer, I did the layout and design for three magazine publications (totaling around 16 issues and the debut issue of "Signature Montana", where my photography also graced the cover and appeared inside as a 4 page spread). I also designed around 6 issues of the Montana School for the Deaf & Blind "Express" Newsletter; Montana NOW Brochure for Tri-West Realty; Postcards, gift certificate, card, billboard, and a brochure for The Runway; Countless Ads; The Great Falls Police Community Foundation Logo; The Children's House Logo, Newsletters, and Enrollment flyer; Winston Publishing's Logo; the mast heads for "Peaks & Plains" and "Signature Montana" magazines; Kaufman's "Ladies Night Out" Postcard, and two Fort Benton Brochures.
Last year I won a Logo contest for Malmstrom Air force Base. "United for a Secure Tomorrow" and I recently won a logo contest for the Hiawatha Music Festival in Michigan (see LOGO CONTEST PAGE)
